Benefits of Laparoscopic Surgery

Negligible blood loss

In open surgery, the usual blood loss during surgery ranges from 200ml – 1000ml depending on the type of surgery.

In Laparoscopic surgery the blood lost during surgery typically ranges between 10 and 100ml.

Early discharge from hospital

In laparoscopic surgery, patients commonly get discharged a day or two earlier when compared to traditional open surgery.

Faster Healing, Quick return to work

Because laparoscopic surgery entails minimal destruction of normal tissue, the healing occurs faster. Most patients return to work either the day after surgery or within a week’s time.

Lesser risk of complications

Laparoscopy uses smaller cuts to achieve the same objective as open surgery. This results in a huge drop in rate of complications like infections, hernia and bleeding

Minimal pain

Thanks to small 10mm, 5mm and 3mm cuts, most patients after laparoscopic surgery can start moving around and eating after 4 hours after the operation.

Tiny scars

The scar in open surgery is usually between 10cm to 20cm and heals leaving an ugly scar. Laparoscopic scars are very small and with time become even more negligible.

TESTIMONIALS FROM TREATED PATIENTS

““My 80 year old mother was having incisional hernia for the past 20 years. Because of my mothers age and weak heart and fear of surgery, we never got her operated. Her pain increased to a point where it became unbearable. Most surgeons either declined to do her operation or asked us to go for open surgery. Someone who was previously operated by Dr Pranav suggested me to meet him. I went to him for a second opinion. He was young, humble, dynamic and full of positive energy and I got convinced that he is the right person to do my mother's surgery. He completed the surgery laparoscopically with 3 small scars. My mother could walk and eat normally just 4 hours after surgery and was sent home the next day. I would definitely recommend Dr Pranav for anyone with a gastro problem.””

My 60 year old father had developed pain in the tummy because of cancer of left sided large intestine. 20 years back he had previously undergone removal of right large intestine because of cancer. But this time it was different. The cancer had spread to the spleen and small intestine - locally advanced colon cancer they call it. I went to many surgeons and surgical oncologists, they said chance of my father surviving a major surgery is minimum said he will not survive more than 3 months and advised to take him home and not do anything. I met Pranav sir and he looked at all the CT scans and we had a detailed discussion that surgery can be done with some minimal risk and he instilled confidence in me and my father. My father trusted him so much and agreed for the surgery. He and his team performed a major surgery removing the cancer part for about 10 hours. He had no complications and was sent home after 4 days. Later we had to take chemotherapy of the cancer. It has been 4 years to today's date and my father is still alive and very healthy - all thanks to Pranav sir.““

““I work in the army and was having a complicated fistula problem in the anus region for more than 5 years and was unable to attend to my duties regularly. I had gone to many big hospitals in prominent cities like Hyderabad, Delhi and Kolkata and underwent many surgeries for my pus problem but no doctor could tell me why I was getting it repeatedly. Finally I heard Pranav sir's name through a friend of mine and so I travelled to visit him. He examined me and performed an MRI fistulogram which showed a very complex fistula in ano problem. He is one of the few surgeons in the country having high success rates for complicated fistula. He suggested a multi stage treatment. I was very desperate to have my problem cured as I had wasted majority of my earning ears because of this. The whole treatment lasted about 6 months and at the end I was cured of the fistula and have rejoined the army. All thanks to Pranav sir ”“

“” I was suffering from acute severe pancreatitis with necrosis as a result of my drinking. I was on the brink of death at a hospital where they were treating me. I was then referred to Dr Pranav's care. I was in the ICU on ventilator for almost 3 weeks. The pus formation in my pancreas had started to spread which was not getting controlled by medicine or ultrasound tube placement techniques. Dr Pranav performed a surgery on me to clean out all the dirty pus that had formed inside my body and within a week after surgery, I was shifted to the ward and then discharged. I got my second life thanks to the wonderful decision making and operative skills that Pranav sir has.““

““I had a gall bladder stone problem since many years and was referred to Pranav sir for the treatment. He performed laparoscopic keyhole cholecystectomy and discharged me the same evening. I had almost zero pain and am very thankful to Pranav sir. I could go to my office from next day itself. I have since then got many of my family members operated from him for various diseases. He is very down to earth and prompt to respond and treats every patient like his own family and takes care to respond even after getting discharged in case of minor queries. ”“
