OUR MISSION

Having spent a major part of his career in Govt Hospitals, one of Dr Pranav’s lifetime ambition is to achieve affordable healthcare for the needy. Good healthcare especially superspecialist care is unfortunately expensive. There are many schemes like Ayushman Bharat (Arogya Bhagya – Suvarna Arogya Suvarna Trust – SAST), CM health fund etc for the underprivileged and Dr Pranav gets involved actively in the care of such patients so that they are provided the optimal treatment that they deserve. 

Professional Life

Majority of Dr Pranav’s schooling was from Baldwin Boys’ high school, Richmond town, Bangalore where he has received awards every year for academic excellence.

He completed his MBBS from M.S.Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore which is consistently ranked among the top 20 institutes of India for medical education.

He pursued his 3 year MS general surgery from Govt. Medical College, Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala which is one the centres with high patient volumes in South India with his department performing over 5000 surgical procedures every year.

He obtained MRCS Edinburgh, UK immediately after his masters.

He secured the 1st rank in all India MCh super-specialty entrance exam and completed 3 year MCh training in Surgical Gastroenterology at the prestigious Madras Medical College in Chennai becoming one of the youngest MCh GI Surgeons in India. Madras Medical College was the first hospital in India to start the MCh program in Surgical Gastroenterology and is the largest referral centre for complicated Gastrointestinal surgical cases for the whole of South India.

Dr Pranav worked in Medanta hospitals, Lucknow being part of a team monthly performing a whopping 100 complex GI Surgical, Colo & Anorectal and Cancer cases – with a majority of them being performed by minimally invasive techniques like laparoscopically.

He was one of the few surgeons in North India to have been treating complicated anorectal diseases and laparoscopic cancer cases as a result of which he used to get routine referrals from all over Uttar Pradesh and other states of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal and neighboring countries of Bangladesh and Nepal.

He moved back to his hometown, Bangalore (Bengaluru) permanently in April 2022, and joined SS Sparsh Hospital, Rajarajeshwari Nagar as Consultant in Surgical Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Cancer (Onco) Surgery, Colorectal surgeon, Bariatric (Weight loss) surgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. 

He has published a number of research articles on gastrointestinal surgery in international journals of repute and is a member of various national and international surgical associations.

He currently consults physically in Bangalore Gastroenterology and Child Care Clinic (BGC) – Jayanagar and SS Sparsh Hospital, Rajarajeshwari Nagar. He also offers video consultation over Skype, Zoom, Google Meet and Whatsapp.

Personal life

Dr Pranav is married to Dr Shruthi Badarinath (Consultant in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology – Bangalore Gastroenterology and Child Care Centre and SS Sparsh Hospital).

 

He is a passionate table tennis and badminton player and a regular golfer.
